GTF VIP Program

The Volunteer Internship Program (VIP) is intended to aid any McMaster University student who is interested in obtaining practical trading skills.  This is a work-at-your-own pace program, with software manuals available for study and personal guidance provided by the employees of the GTF. Floor supervisors play the role of mentor, and work personally with students in the program to help them with the learning process.  Students who complete 20 hours of training under supervision become eligible to apply for employment with the GTF.  This requirement is designed to uphold the highest standards with regards to employee know-how and familiarity with the room and software.

The Volunteer Internship Program is valuable not only for enhancing student research capabilities and gaining work experience in the GTF, but also for sharpening software and personal skills that are very valuable in today’s marketplace.
